Jahel Mielke is a researcher in the Green Growth process of the Global Climate Forum and a visiting scholar at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. She examines stakeholder processes concerning the shift to a low-carbon economy in Europe. Her thesis focused on the role of institutional investors in the energy transition, merging concepts of stakeholder involvement and game theory. Currently, Jahel is working on an interactive methodology for stakeholder dialogues conducted in a visualisation environment. Instead of simply presenting model results, the digital tools developed in this environment allow participants to understand and give feedback on the models used.
An economist and journalist by training, Jahel previously worked for the national newspaper “Der Tagesspiegel” dealing with economic issues such as trade and financial markets and the labour market. Having studied in Cologne, Bordeaux and Potsdam, she holds a diploma in economics and political science as well as a degree in journalism from the Cologne School of Journalism.
